A Category-First Wellness Innovation
Shaped in a womb-like silhouette, the Iris Meditation Pod helps users enter a restorative state, combining vibro-acoustic technology, light and aromatherapy, soundscapes, and guided meditations. In under 12 minutes, the Iris Pod supports the transition to an alpha brain state— unlocking relaxation to cultivate awareness, gratitude, equanimity, and emotional resilience—long-term skills proven to improve performance and wellbeing.
“We’re thrilled to introduce the much-needed Iris Pod to the world—a solution that not only addresses a real problem but also serves as a gateway for countless people to begin meditating and accessing higher states of mental wellbeing” says Jonathan Marcoschamer, Co-Founder and CEO of OpenSeed.
Design for Human Recharge
Designed by Fuseproject to create an immersive multisensory experience, the Iris Pod features an enhanced sound insulation, vibro-acoustic flooring, a soft lock mechanism with a “do not disturb”indicator, and optional accessories such as red light therapy. The new felt-based design with customizable wood finishes allows it to seamlessly integrate into modern office, hospitality, and healthcare interiors.
“Our approach in creating the Iris Pod seamlessly connects human-centered design with the science of wellness. The pod is designed to be an intentional and intimate wellness refuge where calm and connection are realized. A new aesthetic created with felt and wood materiality complements its surroundings while maintaining its design-forward presence.” says Yves Behar, CEO and Founder of Fuseproject. This approach positions Iris not only as a wellness technology but also as a design object—an intentional space that complements modern interiors.
OpenSeed partnered with Fuseproject to create a respite for people within their work environment— a beautiful, easy-to-deploy meditation pod that offers calm amidst the noise and stress of the modern office. Fuseproject’s design concept for Iris brings OpenSeed’s vision to life through three core pillars: user experience, lean and modular design, and customization. The freestanding pod integrates seamlessly into office spaces, offering a quiet retreat where employees can recharge throughout the day. Using sound, guided meditation, lighting, and aromatherapy, the Iris creates an atmosphere of stillness and renewal.
User Experience
Blending sound design, guided meditation, lighting, and aromatherapy, the Iris provides a private, grounding environment that supports relaxation, mindfulness, and decompression.
Lean and Modular Design
With a simplified structure and efficient use of materials, the Iris is designed for minimal waste and ease of assembly. Its fabric and wood components snap together through a tensioning mechanism—eliminating the need for extra hardware—allowing the pod to ship flat for efficient delivery. Felt panels provide acoustic insulation, and users can choose between a built-in sound system or noise-canceling headphones for their experience.
Customization
Crafted from recycled wood and wool, the Iris is both sustainable and fully recyclable at the end of its life. The felt walls can be tailored in color and pattern to reflect company branding or aesthetic preferences, providing acoustic isolation, structural integrity, and a warm, tactile surface. Inspired by the organic form of a seed, the Iris evokes a sense of calm and connection to nature—an invitation to pause, reflect, and recharge.
“Fuseproject has been an extraordinary partner throughout the OpenSeed journey. Their unique ability to bridge design and wellness helped us bring a bold vision into reality, shaping a product that’s now ready for the world. From the very beginning, they understood this was never just about building a meditation pod—it’s about building a movement to make wellness accessible to professionals everywhere” says Jonathan Marcoschamer, Founder and CEO of OpenSeed.
By pairing visionary leadership with design innovation, OpenSeed and Fuseproject are redefining what the workplace of the future can be—embedding wellness into the built environment and making it accessible to professionals everywhere. Organizations including Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Hilton Hotels, Canopy Coworking, Vincere Cancer Center, VA Medical Centers, and a state correctional facility are among the first to embrace this innovation, signaling a new era where wellness is designed into the fabric of the built environment.
