OpenSeed recently completed the installation of an Iris pod at Hilton’s global headquarters in McLean, Virginia, bringing a dedicated space for short, restorative breaks into one of the world’s most recognized hospitality companies. The installation represents another step in OpenSeed’s growing presence within corporate workplaces—and reflects a broader shift in how organizations are thinking about employee wellness. Increasingly, the question isn’t simply how to create a better place to work. It’s also how to create a better place to recover during the workday.

A New Kind of Workplace Amenity
Today’s workplace can be an environment of almost constant stimulation. Meetings, screens, notifications, conversations, and deadlines can leave employees with few opportunities to truly disconnect during the day. The Iris pod creates a dedicated environment where employees can temporarily step away from that stimulation and engage in a guided OpenSeed experience. Inside the pod, the OpenSeed Platform combines elements such as:

  • Guided breathwork and meditation
  • Immersive audio
  • Dynamic lighting
  • Vibroacoustic stimulation
  • Nervous system reset experiences
  • A private environment separated from the surrounding workplace

The result is a very different kind of workplace amenity—one centered around intentional recovery.

Why Short Recovery Matters
For workplace wellness to become part of someone’s actual routine, it has to fit into the workday. That’s why many OpenSeed experiences are designed around approximately 10–15 minutes. Instead of requiring employees to leave the office, change clothes, attend a class, or schedule a longer wellness appointment, the pod creates an opportunity to step away for a short period and then return to the day. Across OpenSeed’s growing network, we’re now seeing an average of approximately 11 sessions per pod, per day, reinforcing what we believe is a significant demand for accessible recovery experiences.

From Meditation to Nervous System Reset
The Hilton installation also comes at an important point in OpenSeed’s evolution. While meditation remains an important part of our content library, OpenSeed has expandedbeyond the idea of a meditation pod. Our focus today is on creating multi-sensory environments and experiences designed to help people reset and regulate their nervous system, recover from stress, and return to their day feeling restored and focused.
The OpenSeed Platform brings the software, content, and sensory technologies together, while the Iris provides a compact physical environment designed to make those experiences accessible within workplaces and other shared spaces.

Bringing Recovery Into the Built Environment
We believe spaces like this will become an increasingly important part of how workplaces are designed. Fitness rooms, cafés, collaboration spaces, and other amenities have become familiar components of modern offices. We see an opportunity for recovery spaces to become part of that same conversation. The installation at Hilton’s headquarters is another meaningful step toward that vision.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to have OpenSeed become part of Hilton’s workplace environment and look forward to continuing to learn from how people use these spaces across our growing network.
